Amount or Item(s) Scammed: $2,000

Screenshots of Communication: Will be sent to mods

Additional Information: We hired the seller for a complete website design. The total agreed price was $4,060, with $2,000 to be paid upfront. The seller also stated that we would receive a full refund if we were not satisfied; this was represented in the refund terms and is visible in the thread design and on the seller’s website (see image: https://i.ibb.co/9mQsSHs7/image.png).

This was our third time working with this designer. On the first two orders, we used a middleman; those prior projects were impeccable and the results were exactly as expected. For this third order, we proceeded without a middleman based on the prior experience and the expectation that the designer would handle everything directly.

After delivery, the website design was significantly subpar and did not meet the agreement. We repeatedly requested revisions, and each subsequent revision was worse rather than improved. At that point, we suspected the work may have been outsourced to a cheaper designer this time (or otherwise not produced by the same level of service we received on prior orders), since the quality was drastically different from our previous experiences.

When we requested a refund, the seller declined, despite earlier statements/claims that a refund would be provided if we were not satisfied before we were fully paid.

All chats (full transcript, not just screenshots) will be provided to staff.

Crypto address for a refund: Will be provided to staff

The buyer's claim is inaccurate and omits key facts.

The project was accepted and confirmed by the buyer on 25/04/2026, which was almost four months ago.

Under Paxerr's Terms & Conditions, the 30-Day Full Refund Guarantee ends immediately once the client accepts or confirms the order. After acceptance, the project is no longer eligible for a refund.

Additionally, the buyer's statement that we refused to resolve the issue is incorrect.

The buyer was offered:
  • · Additional revisions to address any concerns.
  • · A full refund.
The buyer declined both options. Evidence of these offers is available here:
https://i.imgur.com/A5kAb5f.png

Because the project had already been accepted and the buyer declined both the offered revisions and the offered refund at the time, the current refund request made nearly four months after acceptance is not covered by our Terms & Conditions.

Customer satisfaction has always been top priority for Paxerr and we can provider further proof that the client was not being cooperative to get this matter solved while he still was eligible for a refund or for unliimted revisions.

Thanks for your understanding!

Kind regards,
The Paxerr Team

Your reply doesn’t address the core issue: you agreed to refund the client if we were not satisfied, and then you refused when we requested it.

To be specific, I made the payment on 1 Apr. I requested a refund on 26 Apr. You denied the refund, despite the refund terms you previously stated. After that, I contacted you two more times (three refund requests in total) to resolve the issue, and you refused every time.

At that point, once it was clear you would not provide a refund or meaningful resolution, I stopped pursuing further refunds and informed you to keep the initial $2,000 rather than continue wasting time.

If you claim the right to refund expired because the project was “accepted,” then you should explain what “acceptance” meant in practice, especially since we repeatedly raised dissatisfaction and requested revisions immediately after delivery. Your position also conflicts with what you represented earlier regarding refund eligibility when we were not satisfied.

As for your options, offering “additional revisions” and “a refund” only after the fact does not change that the refund was refused multiple times when we first requested it, and the delivered work was materially below what was promised.

Lastly, please note: the first two times we worked with this designer through a middleman were flawless and exactly matched expectations. This third time, without a middleman, the quality was drastically worse and did not meet the agreement.

Thanks.

The staff that will handle this please message me on site and the full conversation will be given.

The refund guarantee was offered as an additional contractual promise and in good faith. It exists to protect clients if we are unable to deliver the agreed service, not because a client simply prefers a different design direction.

Your project was to create a high-converting UI/UX design based on our expertise. During the project, many of the requested revisions were changes that, in our professional opinion, would reduce usability and conversion rather than improve them. We explained this throughout the project while continuing to revise the design based on your feedback.

You also stated that you would request a refund unless a specific designer was assigned to the project. However, that designer was already involved in the project, so there was no basis for a refund on those grounds.

Despite the disagreements, we continued working with you, offered additional revisions, and attempted to resolve the matter. Eventually, you informed us that you would proceed with another designer instead.

For transparency, we have retained the project files and the complete conversation and will provide them to staff if requested. They show the design process, the revision history, and our repeated attempts to resolve your concerns.

As a gesture of goodwill, and without admitting any wrongdoing, we are still willing to complete up to 50 additional revisions to bring the design closer to your preferences. To do so, we require specific, actionable feedback explaining what you would like changed and why. General statements such as "it's bad" or "I don't like it" do not provide enough information to implement meaningful improvements.

We will not be issuing a refund.

Your message still doesn’t address the core issue: you publicly offer a “30-Day Full Refund Guarantee if you’re not satisfied,” and I requested a refund within that window while clearly and repeatedly stating that I was not satisfied with the delivered designs.

From the beginning of the project, I made it clear that I would be using revisions if the work did not match my expectations, and that the main goal was a high‑converting UI/UX, not just “a different design direction.”
When the pricing page and other key pages were delivered, I explicitly told you the designs looked bad, asked whether you were outsourcing, and raised that the quality was far below the previous projects we did together that originally led me to trust you with this larger order.

You are now relying on a claim that the project was “accepted” on 25/04 to deny the refund, but the chat logs around that date show ongoing complaints, refusal to proceed with certain pages (like pricing), and repeated calls for either different designers or a refund.
That behaviour is not consistent with genuine acceptance of the work, especially under your own guarantee which states a refund is available when the client is not satisfied and requests it within 30 days.

I also want to emphasise that this was supposed to be a full website design with a total of $4,060, and I only paid the first $2,000 milestone. No final coded frontend was delivered, no files were provided, and the designs you delivered were not used because they did not meet the quality and conversion standards we agreed on.

You now say you “will not be issuing a refund” but offer “up to 50 additional revisions.” At this point, that is not a meaningful solution: the guarantee you publicly promote is a refund if the client is not satisfied, not an endless cycle of revisions on a design direction that has already proven to be fundamentally misaligned with what was promised and with the standard you previously set in earlier projects.

Ultimately, it is up to the staff on this forum to decide whether you should refund or not, based on the complete conversation and your own stated guarantees and Terms of Service.

I will cooperate fully and provide the full chat logs and any additional information they request so they can see the timeline of dissatisfaction and refund requests for themselves.

When making a purchase you agree to our Project Guarantees | Paxerr

Paxerr may revoke any of these benefits at any time, with or without prior notice, subject to applicable mandatory law. See the full Terms of Service for details.

Your refund request has been denied. Thanks for your understanding.

I’d like to clarify this for the staff, since you’ll be looking at this objectively and based on facts, not emotions.
  1. At the time of purchase, Paxerr was actively advertising a “30‑Day Full Refund Guarantee if you're not satisfied” plus “Unlimited revisions / Full satisfaction guaranteed” as part of the offer I paid for.
  2. I paid the first $2,000 milestone relying on those guarantees. The total project was $4,060 and no final coded frontend or usable files were ever delivered to me.
What actually happened:
  • Within ~25 days of payment, after multiple revisions, I clearly told the seller I was not satisfied with the designs and requested a refund.
  • The seller refused those refund requests, even though they were inside the 30‑day window and I had not accepted or used the final product.
  • Only after I opened this dispute, the seller started citing a generic “we may revoke benefits at any time” line and now says my refund request is denied on that basis.
The issue for staff isn’t whether a vague clause exists somewhere on their site. It’s how that clause is being used in this specific deal:
  • The seller used the refund/satisfaction guarantee as a selling point to secure my payment.
  • When I met the written conditions (not satisfied, refund requested within 30 days, no acceptance or use of the final product), he refused the refund.
  • Now, after the fact, he is trying to retroactively “revoke” the very benefit that persuaded me to go forward in the first place.
If a seller can freely advertise “30‑Day Full Refund if not satisfied” to get clients to pay, and then later deny any refund by citing “we can revoke benefits at any time,” that effectively makes the guarantee meaningless and opens the door to abuse. It turns what looks like a protection for buyers into a marketing hook with no substance behind it.

I’m not asking staff to take my side just because I’m unhappy with a design. I’m asking you to look at:
  • The guarantee and promises shown at the time of the deal.
  • The timeline of my dissatisfaction and refund requests.
  • The fact that I never accepted, used, or received final files.
  • The seller’s later attempt to lean on a broad revocation clause only once the dispute is public.
From my perspective, this is the seller trying to have it both ways: using a strong “satisfaction/refund” guarantee to close the sale, then using hidden fine print to avoid ever honouring it when a client actually invokes it. That’s why I believe this behaviour is closer to scamming than to a legitimate application of terms.

I’ll provide the full chat logs and any additional evidence you need so you can verify the timeline and see exactly when and how the refund was requested and refused.
