A few details missing from this post.

Alien was buying a full scale investment platform. the backend, the frontend, the admin panel, the mail server, the deposit/withdraw system, the whole 9 yards, all for 300$. This person I considered a close friend so I accepted the deal, anyone else and it would have been more like 3000$.

Client paid for and provided a vps where I installed cpanel and delivered the files (I uploaded them directly to the server which he had access to)
The delivered work checked every box that he asked for. Everything was working. There was many bugs along the way, leading to length of time to the completion of the project. Alien checked it out said everything was working and he liked it.

The only thing that he requested I change is the home page. This pissed me off that I was still being denied my funds after I have sank way too fucking many hours on this project just to make less than minimum wage.

Regardless I was willing to redesign the home page but I had another large project I had started (which I literally have to open a diff scam report for but that's a different story) anyways he wasn't happy with how long it was taking

I'm on mobile and can send more screenshots to staff later, I'm literally at a Christmas party with family rn stressing about an online forum and I won't allow that to happen anymore

I'm willing to still finish the home page if that's what it takes.
Even if I was expected to refund the 100$ I got paid I'd think it's ridiculous due to the fact a delivered project was received and the only thing that was not up to standards was some minor css

Update: he sent 50$ on another occasion meaning most I'd be expected to refund is $150 I have all screenshots saved and ready to send to staff

I would also like to add that I do understand that my communication has been very poor throughout this transaction and I am truly sorry for that. I would never treat a client that way. I've been dealing with a plethora of issues online and offline and expected a close friend to be more understanding of my situation. I was wrong.

Yes, I took a long time and my responses sucked and all I can do is apologize
You want your 50% refunded but are ignoring the fact that you walked away with a 100% completed project
The part you are claiming is unfinished is purely visual and was only brought up after I spent a massive amount of time creating something that fit your needs perfectly

I will await staffs response on the matter, but requesting I pay back 300$ is ridiculous
