1. Understand arbitrage betting. It involves placing bets on all possible outcomes of an event across different sportsbooks. Since odds vary, you can guarantee a profit regardless of the outcome.

2. Learn the basics of maths. For example, if you bet $100 on Team A to win at one book and Team B to win at another, your total stake is less than the total payout. The difference is your profit.

3. Find an example. Consider a tennis match. Player A might have odds of 2.10 at Bookmaker X and Player B at 2.10 at Bookmaker Y. Bet $100 on each. Your total stake is $200. One player wins $210, giving you a guaranteed profit of $10.

4. Use an arbitrage calculator. Search “arbitrage betting calculator” online and input the odds from two or three sportsbooks. The calculator will tell you exactly how much to bet on each outcome.

5. Sign up for multiple sportsbooks. You’ll need accounts at 5-10 books to find opportunities. Popular options include Bet365, DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, PointsBet, Caesars and local books in your area.

6. Look for odds discrepancies. The same event might have different odds at different sportsbooks. For example, Book A might have Team X at 2.20 while Book B has Team Y at 1.95. This is an arbitrage opportunity, and the calculator will confirm it.

7. Act quickly. Arbitrage opportunities can last only minutes or hours. Odds change rapidly, so when you spot one, place your bets immediately. Delaying will miss the chance.

8. Calculate your stakes accurately. Use the calculator. For instance, bet $48.50 on Team X at 2.20 and $51.50 on Team Y at 1.95. Your total stake will be $100. You’ll either win $106.70 or make a guaranteed profit of $6.70.

9. Avoid bet limits. Sportsbooks restrict or ban arbitrage bettors. Keep each bet under $200 and don’t bet exact calculator numbers. Round to the nearest dollar and mix in regular bets to appear like a typical gambler.

10. Regularly withdraw profits. Take money out weekly using PayPal, cryptocurrency, or a bank transfer. Don’t let large balances accumulate as books can freeze accounts of arbitrage bettors.

11. Track your bets. Use a spreadsheet to log the date, event, odds, stakes, payout, and profit for each bet. Identify which books are most profitable and which ones limit you first.

12. Consider using software. Paid services like OddsMonkey, RebelBetting, or BetBurger automatically find arbitrage opportunities by scanning hundreds of books in real time. These services cost between $50 and $150 per month and are worth it if you bet over $500 daily.

Example:

Step 1: Open OddsMonkey and scan for opportunities.

Step 2: Find an NBA game. For instance, the Lakers have odds of 2.30 at Book A and the Celtics have odds of 1.85 at Book B.

Step 3: Enter the odds into a calculator and input a total stake of $100.

Step 4: The calculator suggests betting $44.60 on the Lakers and $55.40 on the Celtics.

Step 5: Place both bets, keeping your total stake at $100.

Step 6: If the Lakers win, your profit will be $44.60 x 2.30 = $102.58. If the Celtics win, your profit will be $55.40 x 1.85 = $102.49.

Step 7: In either case, you’ll profit.
