Amount or Item(s) Scammed: OpenArt account
Screenshots of Communication:
I bought an OpenArt account from this guy and he told me it was a “private account” and kept assuring me nobody else would be able to access it. He was getting super defensive whenever I asked questions which I thought was weird, but I still trusted it because he kept saying it was private and secure.
I’ll admit I did not fully understand the terminology between a “private” account and a “full” account. I thought private basically meant it was fully mine and nobody else could access it, so maybe that part is my mistake for not clearing it up better beforehand.
But the issue is he kept making it sound like the account could not be touched by anyone else. Then later the password gets changed and I lose access.
When I told him about it, he responded with:
“Now i gave you account and you change password according to”
What makes no sense to me is if this was supposedly a PRIVATE account and he even says in the messages nothing can be changed, then how does the password suddenly get changed afterward? That literally means somebody still had access to it.
So either:
Also I later found out he got the account from a reseller himself, which I was never told beforehand. That adds a whole extra variable to this situation because now there are potentially multiple people involved with access or recovery options.
I thought I was buying a simple private account directly from him, not some recycled account being passed around between resellers.

So either:
- He lied about it being private/secure, or
- He still had access himself the entire time.
