I know. Sounds like a simple fix, but I'm confused.

The config I'm using requires mailpass wordlist type but when I attempt to change the type of wordlist, mailpass isnt there. any help is appreciated.

Set wordlist type to credentials when you import it. Also make sure the config you are using is set to support the credentials wordlist type

in the settings tab of the config you are creating you have the ability to drag the credentials option to the left, do that then it will work.
